You don't work weekends? What do I do?

Unfortunately It is not practicable at this time.  Being self employed I need a break too.  Part of the reason for going self employed was the fact I was often delivering care 7 days a week with no break.  My focus is high quality individual care for families who want the best and to be involved with their loved ones too.  If identified, social services may be able to provide weekend care.

In the future as demand increases I would like to take 2care+ from sole trader into Limited Company and hire a select few staff to provide services 7 days a week.

Are you CQC Registered?

The short answer is not yet, I dont need to be.

The long answer is; currently as a sole trader It falls under a personal contract, there are no other persons to control and therefore the client is entering a business agreement, it is up to you to make sure I am suitable for your needs.  In the future to have anyone else working for me, yes I shall need full CQC registration.

Are you DBS checked?

The Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly CRB) is a suitability for work check through criminal records.  Being self employed through a contract there is no requirement for me to have one, but you may carry out a check on me if you like.  Currently none of my clients have carried out a DBS check, but I will refund the first client that does, in order to show other clients my suitability.

Are you Insured?

Yes! I carry liability insurance up to £5million

Are you my PA? Am I your Employer?

No.  I am self employed, you are my client.

By its definition, and according to the HMRC employment status checker this is the case for the following reasons:

I pay my own tax and national insurance (my tax ID is on your monthly invoice)

I arrange my own work and have more than one client

You sign my contract

I tell you what hours I can provide

I inform you of my holiday

Holidays? Sickness?

Firstly, you do not pay me for holidays or sickness.

If I give less than 6 hours notice of sickness I shall reimburse your call.

If I give less than 24 hours notice of cancellation I shall reimburse your call, likewise if you cancel within 24 hours, the call shall still be charged.  These points are in the contract and discussed from the start.

Holiday shall be arranged with the client OR 4 weeks notice given, in order for additional cover to be found.

Sounds good, I only want 15 minutes on a Tuesday afternoon...

Absolutely Fine.

From one off services such as a grass cut or shopping trip, to regular care slots all can be accommodated.  Last minute bookings, whilst not guaranteed shall be met if possible.  The contract is designed to be flexible and times may be shortened or extended if other slots permit.

How do I pay?

One off services shall be invoiced and may be paid for immediately, or within 2 weeks.

Regular services shall be invoiced monthly for the previous month and paid for within 2 weeks.

Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer, or card including contactless.
